A bit of history behind our namesake:
The Mastermyr Chest is a Viking age chest found in the Mastermyr Mire on the island of Gotland, Sweden. It was the largest hoard of woodworking and blacksmith tools of the era found in Europe, in 1932 by a farmer ploughing his field after the mire was drained in 1902.
Our logo is based on one of the axe heads found in the chest, known as a Skeggox (also known as a "bearded" axe). This style of axe is still used today by wood workers and foresters.
